Update on Freehills Leading Practices Review & Some Housekeeping

a Freehills Leading Practice
First up, we made a decision last night that all comments now have to be moderated before they get published. We originally required moderation and subsequently decided to allow people who had received unedited approval a certain number of times to proceed straight to publication. We have found over the last few emotive days that some comments have contravened our rules. So if you are wondering why your comments now take a few hours to be published, it is not becuase we’re censoring you – it’s because we have jobs and need to find time to read the comments pre-publication.

Now onto the update. Following on from our post earlier today profiling the apparent departure of the Freehills Melbourne Superannuation group to Lander & Rogers came the following rumour:

FREEHILLS – Patents in Melbourne are the next to go and are being ”hived” off similar to the failed ER proposal. This group includes partners like James Cherry, Greg Noonan, Brett Connor, Paul Jones, John Dower and Tom Gumley. This separation will occur as it has already been endorsed by the Board and Janet Young – however the Patent partners don’t wish to go!! But it will happen within the next 3 months for certain as the group is ”not profitable enough”.

There you have it. More rumours of imminent departures.
