Today’s embarrassing firm website award goes to… Von Dousass, an Adelaide-based commercial firm. One of our eagle-eyed Tipsters noticed this gem among the coveted, but seldom read, ‘our people’ pages:
“Tamara is an admininstrative [sic] assistant, or a clerk or something and she does a good job.”
Looking past the misspelling of ‘administrative’, as our tipster commented, “This firm really cares for their support staff. “ Too right. Then again, at least this firm’s support staff actually get a profile at all! But perhaps the firm should have asked Tamara to proofread the website profiles – we’re sure she would have done a better job.

Like the next couple above best loved Legal Secretaries – it is only a small firm.
This cant possibly be a real law firm, the decriptions of some of the other support staff are written in the exact same manner
If you read all the firm’s profiles, it is obvious the firm is having a bit of a laugh at itself…. Nothing to read here
They have fixed the spelling and it is nice to see they have a sense of humour.
lol it’s now (this is verbatim!)
“Tamara is an administrative (nice spelling) assistant, or a clerk or something and she does a good job.”
The website profile has now been updated for your viewing pleasure:
“Tamara is an administrative (nice spelling) assistant, or a clerk or something and she does a good job.”
FS must have a readership there at Von Doussas – or else this was a shameless (but exceedingly clever, if roundabout) publicicicity stunt?
Read the others – it’s nice to see a legal website not taking things too seriously. Either that, or the marketing people haven’t -quite- finished the website before going live …
Wow if this is all you can scrape up as gossip on this firm then yous are very very desperate for gossip lmao
There is a reason why there has never been a High Court appointment from the profession in SA.
I was once one of those “administrative assistants”. Really enjoyed the interesting work but hated the attitude. Get this, I was offered a job in Mudgee as an experienced conveyancing secretary $28,000!! Of course I took the job – not.
One of the other profiles describes the employee as”a very competent and conciencious conveyancer”.
Makes you wonder if the firm is actually called Van Dousass or if that’s a spelling mistake too.
not quite as bad as these pearlers on william roberts’ home page…
Apparently, the firm’s “success is based on our abillity to attract, develop and inspire legal talent” and one of the firm’s directors is an “accreditted” specialist in commercial lit.
What success the firm has certainly isn’t due to its ability to spell.
