Rumour PWC Set For Third Major Restructure in 12 Months

It sounds like something is definitely on the cards (again!) at PWC. Not satisfied with the cost saving yielded by ditching client Christmas cards and removing chocolate buscuits from the shopping list, an anymous PWC spy has revealed that more heavy-handed cut-backs are apparently looming:
PwC to restructure AGAIN! So the rumours are running rampant aroudnd the office that we are once again going to have an internal “review / restructure/redundancy”. For some departments that would mean the 3rd in he past 12 months. How is anyone expected to be productive if the moment you start to understand what it is you are meant to do they change it again? And what does that mean for your development? I am so sick and tired of being told they want to develop me when they a) have limited all training budgets and b) dont actually offer any courses that would develop you any way. Oh well – it might be fun – at least we’ll all get to waste any few days / eweeks / months moving offices / pods and then all the time to bitch about the new boss – perhaps i should welcome it?
Yes, welcome it! Welcome it in the same way PWC partners welcomed the booze-fuelled Melbourne horse-racing spring carnival a few weeks back! And a correction to the PWC spy who noted that the firm doesn’t “offer any courses that would develop you”. In fact, PWC subsidises some employees taking the CA, but those who choose to take it risk the loss of their job if they fail two subjects. A convenient way to open up the option of lowering head-count, one would have thought. More flexible, even, than the (voluntary) leave of absence scheme implemented by the firm to enhace flexibility in these troubled times.
