is hoped to give the firm certainty in an uncertain economic climate.
Interestingly, the firm’s Adelaide office was recently shafted in favour of Clayton Utz Melbourne for SA’s biggest public-private project, the $2 billion Marjorie Jackson- Nelson hospital. A resounding ‘vote of no confidence’ for the Adelaide legal industry? The fact that the government would incur higher fees certainly suggests so:
Legal work done by SA firms for government is capped at a maximum of $260 an hour. That cap does not apply to interstate firms. Clayton Utz [the firm ultimately awarded the work] can charge two or three times that amount.
Let’s hope McBride can help win some of the big work and steer Minters Adelaide back to glory. Send the Firm Spy your news and views!
