Minter Ellison Lawyer ‘Discussed Child Sex, Rape, Bestiality and Incest’ in Recorded Conversation

A rather salacious incident recently came to the Firm Spy’s attention, as reported in The Australian.  According to court reports (and we express no opinion as to their truth or otherwise), a former Minter Ellison special counsel:

• Attended Mistys Massage Parlour, a brothel, in Sydney;
• Expressed to the prostitute he was soliciting that he had a desire to commit ‘sexual acts on young girls’ ;
• Made dozens of phone calls to the Hot Gozzip Chat Service, once leaving a voice recording which said: ‘Whether you’re into taboo things, sex with children and animals, rape, incest, yeah I’ll do all of those. Get back to me if any of those interest you’;
• Detailed in a recorded message a sexual scenario involving ‘an Alsatian called Rex who’s a bad boy’; and
• Used the same chat service to arrange to meet up with a 15 year-old girl he had met through the service, but who was in reality an undercover police officer who arrested him.

Alarmingly, in one recorded telephone conversation which is believed to have been placed inside the Minter Ellison offices, the reports indicate that the former lawyer and a prostitute were recorded discussing ‘tying a woman up’ and ‘raping her five year-old daughter’.

At trial, the prosecutor Paul Roberts, SC, said the former Minter Ellison lawyer ‘presents a danger to young persons’. He helpfully noted that ’paraphiliac’ was another term for a sexual deviant, and ‘sexual deviant is not a psychiatric disorder, it is a label for conduct.’
