Shoaib Akhtar reveals the true cause for his recent involuntary absence
We revealed in
May rumours that
Clayton Utz had asked some of its employees to take an i
nvoluntary leave of absence, only to subsequently slap
a firm-wide pay freeze on them.
Yesterday an anonymous commented added some credence to the rumour:
It’s not a rumour – it’s true -the [Clayton Utz] staff asked to take involuntary leave of absence were in Susan O’Rourke’s team in Energy & Resources.
We don’t have any other details, but if anyone can confirm (or deny) this report, we’re sure a lot of Clayton Utz staffers will be keen to know.
Please also add your comments as to whether you believe an involuntary leave of absense, followed by a pay freeze (if thats what happened), is appropriate form for a top-tier law firm.
